Alisha is my daughter-in-law, and I see her regularly. At her home, she recreated for me a moment from her recent performance of “White Noise,” from last year’s Undercover Artists Festival in Brisbane. This moment expresses “I am a Performance Artist” encapsulating one of the core themes of her performance: challenging perceptions of her capabilities. Here, she communicates directly to the audience while telling her story of living with disability and the challenges of motherhood and communication. The finished works aims to be like her work Alive, loud and unexpected.
